    Hey folks.
Noticed this a couple of days ago. It's getting bigger and there are more similar looking creatures near by. From what I have read on 3reef (great site BTW!) it looks like aiptasia. But a positive id from you guys would help before I attempt to clear it. My tank is in mid-cycle so I don't want to add peppermint shrimp yet.. The pic is sort of washed out by the flash - sorry.

    Thanks in advance!

yeah, and usually when they sense harm they put spores into the water. so you kill one and get 4. I use a syringe from my local pharmacy and hot lemon juice, stab him right in the center (preferably) from the side not through the "mouth" he'll spit it out.

    hopefully this works.

A kalk solution, Joes Juice, Stop Aiptasia and Aiptasia X will all work. Aiptasia X is IME the best out there as it actually draws the aiptasia towards it(they sense its food) and it gums the aiptasia up so it can't release its planula.

Good luck and be on the hunt for more!! Remember to keep your water quality as best as you can as poor water quality helps aiptasia thrive!

Out of all the treatments i do prefer Aiptasia X - however just like with Joes juice i find that the aiptaisa's still seem to regenerate :(

I love Joe's Juice. You gotta make sure the thing "eats" all of it or part of it will grow back. We had one Joe's Juice battle, then another a week later, and are aiptasia free.
