So I'm looking at getting this fixture. It has single reflectors, and seems like a good budget buy. I was looking at the 24" 4x24w (96watts total).

Aquarium Lighting for Freshwater and Reef Systems: Nova Extreme Compact SLR T-5 Fixtures

It comes stock with 2-10k and 2 460nm bulbs.

Here are the optional bulb choices.. suggestions? I was thinking of get two addional bulbs and switching them with 2 of the stock bulbs:

I know you can't be cheap in this hobby, but will this sufice?

I haven't heard too much POSITIVES about Current lighing BUT the SLR model they have IS a step in the right direction. I've heard nothing but horrible feedback in regards to the stock bulbs they have though, so you are right about swapping them out. I personally like Gieseman bulbs and use them on my tank. Wow, that is cheap, I was going to recommend a Tek light but wow is that cheap.

    Good luck w/ it!

I know, I've been lookin for a while. It says it's a new fixture.. I'm surprised there's no fan.. maybe it's not necessary. Hopefully I can sell my PC fixture for about 80-100$... yeah I looked a the TEK, and I'm not about another 100$.. but this Current light is a far better decision that Aquatraders. Why do they have so many different 10k's (blue vs, white), and so many actinics.. my head is spinning!

What do you mean about so many 10,000k and so many blue?
Also FYI PC lights are almost impossible to sell and get a decent price for I just sold a 4 month old 72" lunar light by Coralife for $100 and was happy, thats like a 1/4 of the price new!!

Will do that.. may buy 1 Current 420 bulb, and go with the stock bulbs to adjust my corals.. then I'll get the better brighter Gieseman bulbs
