im changing tanks, and found a bunch of loose shrooms in the sand bed, any ideas on how to attach em to some LR? LFS says to just set em in low current around the rock and they will set within ten days.

i dont wanna wait ten days, i remember seeing something around here about using string?

Put bridal mesh around them and a rock and it will attach after a while.

rubber bands and/or tooth picks will work well...also placing them in a slow water flow area initially for the mushrooms to attach!

I have some right now in my tank in a shot glass! I put a small peice of rock in the bottom lay the shroom on it, put it in a low flow area and in about 2-3 days attached. I have done it several times, always works. I also make sure the shot glass is secure to not fall, plus it's on the bottom so it cannot break.

This is my preferred method for getting most softies to attach to rock but I prefer using the bottom of a pop bottle or plastic strawberry containers, depending on what I'm trying to get to attach :)

i just let them lay on rough sand until they attach to the tiny pebbles.then i use superglue gel to glue the rough sand they became attached on onto a rock.its worked every time i ever tried it.i use this method for alot of things.

huh, so i guess there's no real problem with having mushrooms on the sand bed?? the LR that i bought from the LFS that has a bunch of mushrooms (started off with 12 or 13 pinkish/purple/blue, and one ricordea), 2 mushrooms are/were MIA, and today, i found one under a stacked rock (was supposed to be somewhat of a cave), planted, and standing upright in the sand! i think its weird because its almost completely dark under there, and i thought shrooms needed light to grow and survive! but then again, i didn't know mushrooms would settle in on sand anyway... i figured they'd need a sturdy foundation, ie, liverock~! should i leave it there, or should i try moving it back to the LR? in a way, i don't mind if it dies off because i have plenty of others to take its place... but on the other hand, if it would be beneficial to try to "plant" it on another piece of rock so it can spread, then i'll try that... i'd just have to move my skimmer out of the way because its right above it, and i'd have to move the big chunk of rock that's over the shroom itself...for now, i'll just leave it alone

I have done the glue and rubber band thing. All work equally well.
