I am losing this battle. My corals are covered in red snot. Looks like Cyno and also tiny bubbles. I am doing weekly water changes changing my filter floss twice a week and runing Chemi pure elite. I don't knwo what else to do. I have lost 4 corals already looks like I will be losing more if I don't figure something out. Odd that my clam is super healthy but that is about it. I just stocked my tank with Snails and crabs and hermits. I am really at a loss please let me know any other chemicals I can use I need to get this under control. The tunze i bought is broken so waiting for a new one. Been testing and things don't seem abnormal. Again I am at a total loss. I even cut my feeding down to once a week.

Are you using RO/DI water, and how much flow do you have? Do you feed frozen food? If so, do you rinse it after thawing?

I would try vacuuming it off the corals while removing water for a water change; that may help save them while you find and correct the nutrient problem.

    Hi
    How old is the tank?
What are your phosphate & nitrate levels?
How long a lightning period do you have?

Are you running a phosban reactor or activated carbon in any way?

Looks like dino's , elevated ph, reduced lighting and lots of vacuuming are how I beat them.

Yes using RO/DI water... Use frozen but I don't rinse it.. changed my frozen food so it was in cleaner water.

Tank is over a year old.. Says my levels are are good.. My lights are on for about 9 hours.

HQI bulb is less than 4 months old.. Yes I try and siphon as much off as i can.

Only running Chemi Pure elite 1 unit

    what i was afraid of

how did you elevate your pH? Lights have been off for 48 hours so far.. and yes I am sucking that stuff out.

    are those stranded? feather like?
if they are cyano, 3 days lights, 4th day actinic only and 5th day return to normal light cycle.
elevate ph= top off with kalkwasser, but you have t watch your calcium and alkalinity.

Won't an extended lights out period be harmful to photosynthetic corals?
