i have a kole tang and flame angel, and they get along fine....and ive never seeen my tang lay on its side unless its getting cleaned by my cleaner shrimp...especially since you can touch it and they not move...but your water so far looks good..

i would next check oxygen..do you have surface agitatioN???

I'm not exactly sure what surface agitation is... I haven't done anything different since my tank was set up. Been, trying the purple up stuff for almost a month now but no ill effects of that. Just since yesterday when this tang went in. I didn't see any aggression from my angel and the kole, just woke up and took my forty minutes to find my angel in some rocks

purple up add calcium to your tank..too much calcium can throw off your alk and ph..you need to check all your params..

yeah I've been looking into getting those test kits since I'm gonna have corals now. I haven't use it as much the past week though, that's why it's all so strange to me. I also haven't used it since I did my last water change last Wednesday

i remember back when i had no idea my fish would slow down when the salinity was too high (sorry fish, if it helps he's still alive and much happier).
also i added wayyy too much prime once thinking i was helping my sick fish, but that story doesnt end well :(
these things were a looong time ago and before i read about a million threads on 3reef
was the dead fish in there long enough to raise ammo levels maybe?
big water change and run some carbon would probably be my next suggestion
other than that i guess i'm still new and out of ideas.

if i ever had a problem with my tank..the main things i would check would be ph, ammonia, nitrite, and alkalinity..

Yeah the gills are moving on both. My thing with the clown is in six months of having the little bugger never once have I seen it that close to the sand, even at night. Always sleeps on a rock and is close by the other one. Both not the case when I got home
