    Ok, well that looks like green hair algae. The good news is I don't think that it's bryopsis - what Tangster is dealing with. I had a small patch of green hair algae like that, but I got 5 scarlet hermit crabs, and they ate it in few days. For that much, I'd say get 10-15 big scarlet-legged hermit crabs. They'll eat it and won't let it grow back so you even see that much ever again.

    Could also invest in a sea hare... they wreck havoc on hair algae... only problem is that once hte hair algae is gone, they are too :(

    I have the same stuff in my tank and neither the hermits I bought or the sea hares will eat any of it. I am starting to freak out a little. I am thinking about leaving my lights off and not feeding the fish for a few days to a week and seeing what happens.

    if phosphates are the problem, Phos buster is awsome, makes the water cloudy for a day or so, but within 72 hours phosphates are down.
