I have a 75 gal tank all parameters are good nitrates are about 10. I have been running the solaris 48" for about 3 months. All my lps and soft coral still doing good. All the sps are lossing color throughout the hole coral not just the tips and lossing polyp extension. Did good under mh. anyone have any ideals.

I have said it before and here it goes again LED's are far far far from the point of keeping SPS coral and many LPS even .. Now let the youngsters slam me But I spoke of the Solairus from experience with dealing with them and SPS corals not from some sales ad or article from a sponsored lighting god.. Maybe one day ? but not this week. many LPS and all softs will do great though.. You SPS are bleaching from lact of carbon sugars being produced from the coals symbiotic algae with in them.. Your options are either get some lighting on them ASAP or get rid of them they are slowly starving to death.. Once they tweak out enought and bacteria sets in then then RTN then they are toast..

Do you think that adding an additional t-5 4 65 watt light to the tank would help

It would be better then under the LED's if you have the proper lamps . But if you have M/H's still that would be my first choice

yeah im all about trying the LEDs and would love to see them work but all i have seen with them is problematic fixtures and or corals fading to that pastel-ish colors at the best. If you want colors to really POP get yourself some T5HO's or metal halides. That solaris will make a great refugium light or really cool architectural wall washer!

All kidding aside the only somewhat decent colors of corals i have seen with the use of a solaris is if you turn the blue all the way up to 100 and the white down to 35% or lower. But then you are basically only running actinics.
