    Mandarins will eat brine shrimp and other stuff besides pods. These are getting easier to keep as more are aquacultured.and with a large enough fuge, and some trickery you can keep the pod population up in a tank that size to support a mandarin. It will however take a lot of work, and a lot of algae.
