sorry to hear about your loss.. :( the odds of a fish fitting through a small hole like that.. geezz.. I guess some small hole screen mesh or silimar product might be in order.. so this doesnt happen again...

i know, its so rare, but he was so small he could of easily fit through there.

i had window screen material over the eggcrate before but that blocked too much light
i may have to some other lid, thankfully my pink margins are too big to fit through the eggcrate

yea all dried up :( why is it that the fish that you love is the one who jumps but where the fish that you hate the most is the one who lives. at least i dont have to worry about him being beaten up by the evil chormis :(

i know, mayb there was a reason why was so determined to try to catch him, and i failed and this is what happend i wish he would of at least landed in the puffer tank right next to the reef, my puffer wuold have been sleeping and not even noticed him, and when i woke up i would have been able to just simply scoop him out and put him back in, but he landed right on the carpet inbetween the two tanks :(

don't know if the holes are any smaller than eggcrate but i built a frame out of window screen material that fits on each half of my tank (its a 55 gallon with a center brace)
instead of useing screen, I use bird netting. these are big enough holes that they don't block any light.
