I bought 3 of these a good year or so ago. They where in my tank only for a few days and I noticed one of them disappeared. I didn't worry too much then another one vanished and I couldn't work out where they went. A few days later I was having a good look around and noticed that my final mushroom was moving! How odd, and after closer inspection I noticed a crabs claw was dragging it into the rock! I had a nasty hitch hiker crab that had a taste for my rics, I managed to save the mushroom and luckily for me the crab was in an isolated rock. So I removed the rock and got rid of the crab. It may be worth having a look late at night after lights are out (good hour or so) and see if you have any nasties!

THAT is a possibility. My rock was harvested (legally) from the Gulf of Mexico, so my first few months were "crabbing season". A few of the really tiny/ larval crabs from back then might be old enough and big enough now to start a new round of mayhem.
