    +1

When you over stock a tank you run the risk of aggression issues and disease because of the stress. Saltwater is less forgiving in that regard.

Water quality is very important, less fish = more corals.

It is always a good idea to check out potiential purchases with the forum members first, research the livestock prior to purchase. Also take advice from the LFS with a grain of salt until you know otherwise. They are a business and some will sell items that are not appropriate for the tank and that you do not need.

    Go with the clown goby.

Dry rock will have no die off and no nasties. Dry rock is much, much cheaper.

Cured LR should have very little die off, be free of aiptasia, flatworms, crabs, various types of worms, majano or some problems algaes like caulpera and bryopsis. It should not have a strong odor.

Uncured rock will have a lot of die off and can introduce more problem inverts.

Personally I would go 90% dry and 10% cured.

Looks like very nice rock. Nice shapes.

If you are buying this tank new it may come with a skimmer, double check that. Mine did and I know other members have the stock skimmer running.
Not the best skimmer but it will get you by. If is does not come with a skimmer you should be fine, if you stock lightly, until you decide on a skimmer. Make sure you get the measurements down correctly because it is hard to modify this tank for skimmer placement.

okay thank you, i think it comes with a skimmer im just not sure.

EDIT: I was looking online and the only model I found was HQI that came with a skimmer, the CF doesnt. The skimmer is $45, is it worth it? or should i look into a better skimmer?

Are you buying your cube online? If so, where?

I am buying the JBJ as well from Dr. Foster, while searching I ran across a few really good deals that turned out to be scams, so I'm hoping you found something legitimate.

That's the tank i have, only the hqi and led models come with the skimmer,i do recommend thier skimmer,it's not the greatest and it's airstone powered but it does pull halfway decent skimmate, you are very limited to what will fit in that chamber in the back, tunze makes a nano skimmer that will fit but i believe it runs about $150,do not buy the aquaticlife nano skimmer(it's a great skimmer as i did buy it)it will not however fit in the tank without severe mods including cutting on the skimmer and tank.
