Loud Overflow??

    I have a 75 gallon drilled tank with wet/dry filter using a 2300 pump. But what i cant figure out is why the overflow is loud. The water seems to be pouring really hard into the slits and then splashing into the overflow box. Is the pump to strong? What do you guys suggest to keep the noise down? Thanks

    If it is in the overflow box try raising the stand pipe.It will give the water in the overflow less fall.Or you could valve the pump down.
