Ok so I have 2 BoostLED's (both 3b2w) over my nano and they are great, but I have no pure actinic option. Since I put the Mu 135 over my 40B I've just lost the wow I once got from my nano. The colors aren't nearly as bright or as fluorescent. What options do I have for an actinic type supplement for my nano?

You can see what's in my 10g below in my signature. I'm thinking of moving it into my old 29g and making it a display frag tank, so I really want my corals to have intense colors. Just adding this tid bit of info to get the best advice possible.

I've tossed around getting a 2 bulb t5 unit, but not sure what that would do. I've never had anything other than LEDs, so my lighting experience is extremely limited.

    TIA

I'm not exactly sure what you want? You just want the option to be able to turn your nano to strictly actinic lighting when you want to?

I'd like to have a pure actinic option yes, but I also want to add more intense color as well (more fluorescence really). Not sure if more blue would do that or not. I guess that's why I'm asking. Like I said my lighting xp is extremely limited.

I would recommend RapidLed's actinic kit. Probably 2, one in the front of the tank, and the other towards the back. That would give you the coverage for full actinic and give you the pop you are looking for. Or do the same but with t5 actinic bulbs.

I would say your best choice is one or two Ecoxotic Stunner Strips. They are linkable led strips available in several color options. One 453nm (Blue) and one 403nm (Ultraviolet) should give some good pop.

Does anyone have any experience with the all blue par 30's? I wonder if that would color my corals up. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be setting my 29g up again and breaking down my 10g. I already have 3x 3b2w's. I wonder what the results would be if I set the bulbs in this manner,

    3b2w.......5b.......3b2w......5b.......3b2w

    Just looking for options.

Yeah, 5 par 30s on a 29 is way too much. You would have to mount them on the ceiling lol

BTW, I am going to have 2 boost par30s over my 29g...each will be 4B/1W. It will be...40* optics...60* optics...40* optics.

I haven't decided on moonlights yet. But I have thought about it and here is what I have come up with...

Option 1. Lunar simulator for aqua controller/apex jr...the lunar simulator dims and brightens according to the moon phases. Simply set the date of the year. 1 light per foot should be good. But the light on this will be white.

Option 2. Ecoxotic stunner strip(two strips) 435nm...a very blue wavelength, this should be great for making colors pop on your corals.

If you are looking for more flourescence your would want the royal blue leds. Boostled does have an option for royal blue leds in those par 30s. these will make certain colors pop. my corals glow with the Royal blue leds from my Aqua illumination SOL blue.
