    Is this the kit where you shake the vial for 15 seconds after adding 1 drop of reagent A? And you do that step 5 or so times?

    honestly i think you should spend the money on elos or salifert kits...I have the full line of both brands and test them against each other on the same water sample on a regular basis. They both always test out to be relatively equal to each other. The only reason i would prefer one over the other is because one maybe easier to read, faster to get results, or just easier to preform. For instance i prefer Elos magnesium test kits over salifert because it is much easier for me to see the color change. However they both relatively give the same results when testing the same water sample.

    Anyway...if you are getting a reading of 1560 for mag that means it is a little high and you shouldnt add any magnesium supplements at this time...If you wanna see the mag drop off you can add a mangrove to your refugium (if you have one) or attach one to a piece of styrofoam so that the roots are in the water and leaves are emersed. They will use up magnesium pretty quickly. Other macro algaes will also use up magnesium but i find mangroves to use up more than others.
