I am not sure if this is the right forum discussion for this, but here goes :)

I have a 47 gallon bowfront with a Fluval 305 canister producing 260 GPH of flow and a Aqua C Remora producing 295 GPH for a total of 555 GPH. Is this too low? I currently only have clowns and zoas in the tank. I want some more SPS corals, a flame angel and a few other fish. Is there a general rule for flow? Are there any downsides to low flow?

If you want SPS your going to want to increase the flow. 40-50 times the turnover seems to be about what everyone else is doing. So for a 47g, your looking for at least 1800gph. Get a couple koralia 3s or something similar.
