Nps can handle light no problem. The problem with putting them in a cave is they won't get enough flow. The lps nps like dendro and sun coral are definitely the easiest, and you can get away with spot feeding just a few times a week. But make sure any nps is in a high, more laminar flow area.

IMO you would probably have better luck with chalice.

+1, chalice are easy and not as much work, plus they look amazing. Can we get a shot of the new scape? ;D

Sure here goes a tank update:

I haven't done one for a while, because to be honest, I haven't really felt my tank is up to scratch with many of the others I see on here. And its abit intimidating posting photos of my tank. As you can see there is alot of cyano bacteria. Pretty much because of my tap water use. I have now swapped to RODI water and have about 3 weeks with it, and when removing algae manually, have about halved it in that time. I have all confidence I will eradicate it.

I have also recently (within the last three weeks) upgraded my lighting. I am now running 48 x 3W CREE LEDS from Marintech, a home grown Australian brand.

In one or two days I will also have my new Vortech MP10, which will substantially help the flow in my tank, while I get my tank ready for SPS.

Ok so here are some photos of my tank and scape :):

White/Pink BTA with porcelain crab underneath :) - It looks abit sad cause I have actually just fed it some muscle in this picture:

My GBTA - Actually legitamately looking sad. Yesterday it closed up and hasnt really come out again. Previously it has been huge with massive tentacle things. It does look like its slowly improving. Help here would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking guys, as you can see from those pics, I have a fair few caves/ low light areas and thus this thread was looking at things I could do to add to abit of spice to those. I do love the idea of some chalice. I will look at the LFS for a few.

I will be continuing my water changes as normal with RODI water, as well as manual vaccuming to get onto the cyano. Soon my tank will be spot less :).

    Cheers

    Ryan.

No, you shouldn't feel that way. You should see my tank it looks like I found it out of a dumpster. The new scape Looks really nice . It'll look great once you get some Sps in there. What are some Aussie brands? I know of Breville and Holden...but, Holden is really American because it's all GM products.
