low pH - uh oh!

    Your ph will swing a little when your lights are off at night, when your algaes and plants release CO2.

    Don't quote me, but ph of 8.2 vs 7.8. 8.2 would be better because of calcification rates (if thats a word.) Or faster coral hard coral growth. BUT with that said the most important thing is stability. As long as it is swinging less than 0.2 (measured first thing in the morning when the lights come on, and right before lights out) and the ph is always 7.8 or above, you will be fine. My ph goes from 8.1 when the lights first come on to 8.3 when the lights go out. Before I started my calcium reactor I struggled to keep it above 8, but that was because of my struggle to keep ALK in check.
