Low PH

    Been up and running for 5months 36g
    Weekly 10g water change
    I tested my ph today and it was 7.4 is this bad?

    Yes, I've had fish die in Ph higher then that. I recommend heading to your lfs and buying some marine buffer.

    It would be much better if it was between 7.8 and 8.2-4. If this is a fish only than I would not be too concerned but with corals it should be higher consistently.

    You need to test prior to the lights coming on, which will give you the lowest value (if you are not running a reverse lighting fuge) and test again at the end of the lighting period to get your highest value, then track the swing.

    You can try to increase the pH by increasing the surface agitation. Opening window, take the lid off the tank if it has one.

    If you are using a probe it might need to be recalibrated.

    I Had A Ph Issue For A While, I Started Using Reef Builder "Raises Carbonate Alkalinity" BY Seachem And It Helped Me Out. I Dint Like Using Chemicals For A While, But I Just Couldn't Keep Up With The Needs Of My Corals. They Have Much better Color When The Ph Is 8.2 To 8.4.
