Low PH

    8.0 at mid-day is very normal, actually, its pretty good.

    Ya 8.0 is fine. It will probably be a little higher just before lights out too. PH tends to slowly rise threw out the day.

    Stability is more important than the raw number. My pH sits rock solid at 8.5, which is slightly high. My tank is very oxygenated (with skimmer and fuge), almost to the point of oversaturation in O2. I have an anemone, so I need as much dissolved O2 as I can get. My tank shows no ill effects as it sways only .1 during the day and night. *knock on wood*
    You will be fine with 8.0 as long as it doesn't fluctuate much. But like everyone said, worry about that after your ammonia cycle is completed. Then get your pH, KH, Mg and Ca levels where you want before you dump livestock in (slowly).
