Hi All - I am in a little dilemma - when I bought my aquarium - it came with a real cheap T5 - not even meant for salt water - okay - knowing I was not going to use that - I purchased an Orbit 36" strip that expands to 48" well.... I don't think that is going to cut it, its still new in box and I am going to return it -

Here is the situation - the canopy - does not allow a lot of clearance to hang LED's. the tank has a plastic strip in the center to hold the top glass so with the 36" strip I am loosing 3-4" of LED's.

So I think my best bet is to go with two 18" units that are low profile that I can hang under the canopy - I ONLY have 2 3/4" clearance as there is a support that runs down the entire top - I have attached some pictures.

Anyone using the Acan lights? I am looking at the 600 series - (2) 18" units, they look low profile - only 1 1/2" height - I am not looking to drop big $$$ and these are over budget as is.

    ACAN 600 series

Anyone running these? Thoughts? Experience? I think that is my only option under this canopy. they are 1 1/2" and I only have 2 3/4" to work with.

I haven't heard much from Acan lighting, but I saw their fixtures at MACNA and they were really nice. Another option is a Maxspect Razor.

I ordered the Acan 600 Series - two units 18"

I saw them live and really like the look of them.

Plus it is a local company with a good warranty and hey - I like supporting local business.... Although doing a lot of stimulating the economy building this tank so far!!

I would have ditched the canapy and went with two reef breeders value fixtures for the price of one Acan. Nice lights though.

Razor or BML custom, or a RB if you can fit it would be better IMO.
