Does low salinity inhibit or cause coralline algae to die off and turn white 1.014-1.017 ? and vise versa 1.023-1.026 to thrive assuming all other parameters needed like ca alk mg are in the correct range.

I'm pretty sure low salinity can kill off coralline.

not 1.023.1.026. that is what natural sea water is and what reef tanks should be. i would think low salinity/ bracking would kill it.

any parameter changes can cause coraline to die off / turn white IME
the lower salinity could cause it
    as could changes in lighting
and changes in Ca, Mg and Alk levels ( dropped quickly) will also cause this
