The flesh on the base of my euphyllia and calaustria coral is receeding to the point of skeleton. I just did a heavy water change, will do another in a few hours. Everything appears to be... Well everything looks like crap. The only thing I can test, was salinity, and it was 1.024, I generally keep it at 1.026. I'm currently without any test kits. So I can't give my params /:

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You really need to get the basic 3 test kit.

Swings in parameters is likely your issue and impossible to trouble shoot for without those values.

Also are you using refractormeter or hydrometer?

If you did a large WC already I would not do another one for at least a week or more.Swinging parameters may make it worse. If possible you may want to consider dipping the affected corals.

Alk was my first guess, but then I thought a sibling may have tossed something in there... again.

I did about a 2 gallon change. Total water volume is 5.5. So.. large..? Lol. It's been about 45 minutes post wc. everything looks considerably better.
My BTA never showed signs of stress, nor did ky damsel.

In fact my kenya tree has never looked happier...

And Hydrometer. I know its significantly less accurate than a refract.
