    Hi guys,
This is my first post ever in a forum so please forgive me if I forget something. I have a 75 gallon reef tank with an algae scrubber and an 8 gallon refugium. A Gen-x 3000 gph pump. An Aquaticlife Life light with two T5s and a metal halide 14k. Two powerheads as well. About two months ago our metal halide burnt out. I purchased a new one and ever since the tank did with out it for about two weeks my plate coral hasn't extended his tentancles, my trumpet corals have died, and my watermelon lobo hasnt opened up. The lobo is my biggest concern now because just this morning I noticed there is a small spot of skeleton showing and one spot where tissue is coming off. I don't have a clue as to why nothing seems to be doing as well since I put a new bulb in. Parameters : nitrate 0, phosphate 0, ammonia 0, pH 8.2, nitrite 0, sg 1.027, and temp is steady and 74. The tank has 1 six line wrasse, one green chromis, two clowns, two domino damsels, one cleaner shrimp. As far as corals go I have a scoly, couple mushrooms, a featherduster, frogspawn, star polyps, plate coral, lobo, two acans, lots of zoas, three ricordia, yellow polyps, pulsing xenia, and a torch. I think there are about 7 astrae snails, 10 or so small emerald grabs (I mean small too!!!), and one condilactis anenome. Any suggestion In how to save my lobo!?!?!?!?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Sorry. :-(

Never even saw the post, next time bump it a few times to get some attention.
I would think either photo shock secondary to no or short acclimation to the new MH bulb or newer bulbs.
Another issue might be swings in parameters such as alk.
Perhaps you can post alk, calcium and mg levels.

    Again sorry.

Wow, very sorry about the loss. Corailline is very right though, bumps get the responses to threads. I myself try and get to any of the "unanswered" threads I can, but I only get so many hours a day to give my crappy opinions out, and it sucks when an emergency like yours goes unanswered. Light shock definitely seems to be the culprit, but I'm no expert. I just hope I can keep this going for ya so you can get a better answer.

hi i to am sorry i didn't see your post, i have only had one lobo so, i'm not up on there keep like i should be, it takes a mh light about 100 hours before it settles in or breakes in, so the spectrum can be off a bit and thats what i believe happened to the lobo, it went into light shock, it died very quickly and that in general is a reason to die very fast. it sounds like the tissue released from the skeleton again sorry for your lost.
