i am getting ready to start curing some live rock (if my mail order salt and RO machine and skimmer from my LFS ever show up)

will i need to add calc or other additives while cycling in order to maintain proper water conditions for curing

please keep in mind i will have sand in the tank during the cure

Your salt has everything in it you will need, I suggest Oceanic salt.

    ID,

Reef Bones look just like what we call Base rock.  In other words just rock that has been collected and dried out.  If it is the same thing, put it in, it will soon be as populated with life as the live rock is.

In my last tank I used nearly all base rock and just one piece of live rock, it didn't take long at all for all the little criiters to populate.

Once you get your sand, water and rock in place and cycling, then it would be a good idea to start checking and adjusting the Alk, Calc and Mag

Samething with Live sand. You only need one or two bags to seed the rest of the other sand.
