I'm just wondering if there would be any problem with letting some LR stick out of the water. Here is a side and front view of my tank. I like this arrangement, but, just wondering if standing up the big piece would look better. That would put about three inches out of the water. There is plenty of room in the canopy for it, but I don't want to start an algae farm that my CUC can't get to, or will die trying to get to.

Any other comments will be appreciated.

It's fine. In fact, you'll probably be shocked and find some snails and crabs hanging up there on occasion. In fact, if you keep fiddler crabs, you HAVE to give them some rock above the water for them to live because they need to occasionally breathe air.

If the rock will be leaning back on the glass you will probably lose some crabs and even snails as they will un-wittingly crawl out. I had a crab crawl along the return and somehow fell out and just happened to fall on my stereo speaker and hit a nick-knack and fell on the floor. I heard it and promptly saved him.

    Ok, thanks.

Because of the way the cube lid fits, I think they might escape into the sump or refugium, but I don't think they could actually get out of the tank.
