GraviT, can you post a pic of the stuff that's coming out of the anemone?

Unfortunately, I don't have a camera around. Now that it's open and cruising around looking for a home, it looks like a curly-q white string with a chunk of something attached to the end. The mouth looks closed and tight and the tentacles are all in good shape.

Well, the green LTA seems to have found itself a place to hang out, the top of a small cave behind a nice big rock. I can't imagine it's very happy and I haven't been feeding it in hopes it will get annoyed and decide to move. Is this a bad idea, or should I try to get my hand in there to offer it some food?

Leave it be. If it's not happy, it'll move again. In my experience, target feeding the animal will not cause it to move or sit still.

I think the critter is about dead. It's wedged behind a rock, upside down and seems to be shrinking more every day. I think tomorrow it gets to take a ride down the toilet. Remember, all drains lead to the ocean! :-/

Oh! I wouldn't pull it out unless it's falling apart. It can take a week or more for an anemone to adjust and if I'm not mistaken, you just got it last week?

I forgot to mention, it is beginning to fall apart. There seems to be more coming off of it every day. Chunks of white, mealy looking stuff.

Use a net to take it out as it will desintigrate if you touch it with your hands.

Thanks for the tip. I gave it a burial at sea! [flush]

I wonder why it died? I guess it could have been sick from go. I'm looking to buy another, but don't want to waste the cash if the next one will just croak also.

    Water conditions:

    Ph: 8.2
    Alk: 3.2 meq/l
    SG: 1.023
    Amm: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: <=10
    Temp range: 78.2 - 79.5

The water seems great, so maybe it was sick?

Sorry to hear about that :( How did it look in the store? Fully inflated? Was it attached to anything? Were the tentacles sticky to the touch? Was the mouth nice and tight (behave) :)

How did it act when you put it in the tank? Did it attach right away? Move around at all?
