I am looking at getting a LT plate coral. Would they be a danger to clownfish thinking it is a anemone? Are they hardy?

A clownfish may very well see your coral as a host so you take your chances. I don't believe any lps is hardy enough to take constant rubbing and pecking for too long.

I have both an ocellaris an LT Plate. The clown pays no attention to the plate. And my plate is very hardy, it has survived all of my mistakes. I have it on the bottom of my tank in what most would consider low light and it's doing great. It loves brine shrimp and it is fun to watch it pass the food to it's mouth.
