It will want to put it's foot in a rock to keep from being blown away by current.

You just put it in the tank it will go where it wants to go I have had them to settle in rocks and on the sand no matter where I dropped them in at they always end up else where ..

It's true, anemones will go where they want to, not always where you want them to go.

Just put it anywhere. Anemones are usually the first thing to go into a tank, because of their tendency to move a whole lot while they find the spot they want to be in. I wouldn't try to make it do anything at all; it's not worth stressing an anemone by trying to get it in a spot you like.

You can kind of guess a good starting spot..Look for a place in high lighting (they wont mind being right under the light..)..moderate flow (not getting blasted)..with a hole in the rock. They like their foot to be hidden.

But it will probably still end up going somewhere completely different. The two I have had went behind the rocks for a couple of days then worked their way out front towards the light.

They definitely go where they want. Mine is in the back part of the tank, where I can't see it easily. Unfortunately, that's just how it goes with these creatures.
