Well i have a rather large LTA and I just added a small horseshoe crab today. He didn't last five minutes! I didn't realize he would stick to the LTA! He got sucked up within seconds. I really am beginning to hate this anemone. I can't remove him without damaging him. GRRR. I'm hoping he splits which would reduce him in size and I can remove the one half. Any comments? Also, the LTA has tripled in size in three months! I dose with Iodine...perhaps this is part of the reason for his rapid growth....

I've heard they only live a few months. But that would have been a better life than five minutes! And then only to be digested! What a way to go. :(

Glad you are having success with the LTA. It sounds very cool, any pictures.

Yes anything that shares the same plane as the anemone is fair game.

LTA rarely clone/split compared to BTA's, if it does be sure and get pictures please.

if you want to remove the anem, you can do so without hurting them. put ice on the foot and slowly work in under there. also use a turkey baster to slowly work water under there in con junction with the ice cube. once you have a bit under the foot, keep going and it will come off. takes about 10-15 minutes or so. done it several times.

Here you go. He is much bigger than this now. Just about covers that entire rock. I wish to get rid of him honestly. He limits prime real estate for other corals...I suppose I was under the assumption that they would split just as regularly as BTAs...

I can't get to the foot because it's buried deep within the rock. . . I tried to get with the turkey baster but the foot is within a crevice in the rock and I can't get to it...

Yeah, in a tank that size, that horseshoe never had a chance. They live plenty long if the tank/habitat is appropriate for it... This habitat was not - even without the LTA.
