    Well... NOW you tell me.

I thinking the led is metal, and so the super glue should come off with the plastic optic? I would hate to pop them off and not be able to reattach another optic!

ROFL, gotta love that hydrogen sulfide! I used to clean my skimmer cup in the Utility Sink but I'm at the point of taking it outside and hosing it out. With all the wrasses and feeding heavy, my skimmer cup turns almost black now. :-/

    Long overdue update:

I've slightly burnt a few of the corals... two factors in play here. One is the 60* optics, which provide quite a hotspot towards the middle of the tank. Two is the fact my UV/blue/cyan LEDs are on a fixed 700mA driver, and have no dimming capability.

Currently running my whites at 45%, royal blues at 30%, and UV/colors at 100%.

Ordered a dimmable 700mA driver, and 12 80* optics to replace the optics closest to the middle and hopefully give a wider spread. We'll see if this helps.

Out on business travel for the rest of the week, but hopefully this weekend or next week we'll get wired in.

I think the dimmable driver for the UV/color LEDs is gonna work great for you! Looking forward to an update!

Just reread this whole thread, awesome job, lookin' great.
Do you have the output of the bio reactor next to the input of the skimmer?

Yeah, I've done a lot of thinking about it, and I think the dimmable driver will let me match intensities a bit better, and the 80* lenses will spread the coverage a little more evenly in the middle, while still allowing for dimmer areas around the perimeter.

Thanks again! Yes, the output is literally 1 inch from the input to the skimmer.

This thread is starting to get a little light on pictures... Hopefully an update soon!
