Sweet tank man. I love the look of it. How do you get such uniform seams on the silicone? also where did you order the glass from? just curious. Id love to make my own tank one day. is it difficult to do? i looked thru your pics and saw the method. Looks pretty simple, but looks can be deceiving.

I really like the craftsmanship you have brought to the table. Tank came out official. def want a shallow rimless reef now, thanks man.. lol

Thanks Cheryl...the goby is not shy, but his snapping shrimp partner (who I hoped would come out) was... Another day perhaps...

Uniform seams are tough... It all depends on your glass shop (which was local, btw) and how tight they can cut... Mine cut to 1/16", so glass fit perfectly. A liberal application of silicon does the rest. I will admit that the front left seam has some bubbles in it, but they've been there since day one, have not expanded, and I'm not too worried because the pressures of a shallow tank are minimal... If I did a deeper tank, I'd be more hesitant to DIY

The longest part of my build by far was the stand... Then the lights... Then the tank... The tank took about 3 hours of my time total... About 2.5 of that was prep, the last 30 min was the actual silicone job...

A DIY build is totally doable, you just have to research and plan... Otherwise, a regular joe with a hammer, saw, and solder iron can totally do it... I've proved that, lol!

Feel free to hit me up with anymore questions!

Thanks guys! Unfotunately I have more corals b/c I decided to frag 3 of the larger frags. Just a matter of finding the right location of light/flow for the green digi and red birdsnest, and getting more flow for the stylo...

The favia bleached after inital introduction, but it's recovering its color amazingly well.... hopefully in another couple months it'll be back to normal.

    Everyone else is doing great!
