The tank PH is around 8.2. The controller is used to keep the PH inside the calcium reactor at 6.4-6.5 in order to dissolve the ARM coarse media. That way the media disolved gets into the tank to add calcium and alkalinity. The effluent will mix in the sump with tank water.

I used to use kalkwasser in my ATO but I am not doing it anymore because the PH keep in a good range. The reason I started kalkwasser was because the vinager which has a very low PH.

I'm looking into carbon dosing with kalk and vinegar. How do you like it?

For me that is the best way to add carbon. I used vodka and got some cyano. With vinegar there was no cyano and was easy to keep nitrates undetectable. I think is evan better than biopellets. The good thing about adding kalkwasser to the formula is that you can disolve more kalkwasser in the water. Without it the water is saturated with 2 tps and with vinegar you can add 3.
