A little while ago I ordered a Lumentek Pro 240 from Reef Radiance for my 65g to replace my 2x150w MH & 2x39w T5 setup. I spoke with the owner Rick and had a detailed conversation about my tank and my goals. This is the light he recommended. One of the reasons I went with this light by them is they offered the option to use their mount to put the light over my tank instead of having to hang it. The way my tank is situated, hanging my light would have been doable, but less than ideal.

Last Wednesday my light came in and I've spent the last few evening playing with my new toy. So far I am really impressed. You can program each of the three channel's (Blue, White/Colors, Moon) intensity in 10 minute increments. The programming was pretty time intensive. I found it much easier to use the remote that came with the light than the control panel on the fixture. It took about an hour, but the result was very nice. The brightening and dimming steps are so small and so often that the result is a very smooth ramp up and down. I am currently running the light with maximum output of 50% blue and 35% white.

Another thing that I have noticed that I really like is the programming that controls the built in fans. At first I was little concerned that there was something wrong because the fans were not on at all. The light had been running for a few hours and was at my max setting of 50% blue and 35% white. The temperature was reading 42c. I cranked the light up to 100% and watched the temperature and the fans. About 5 minutes later when the temp hit 45c the fans slowly and silently spun up and quickly pushed the temps down and shut back off. This thing must have a pretty serious heat sink in there.

All my coral seem very happy right now and I am hoping they stay that way.

Here are some pictures...I could not get the white balance quite right on my camera so the pictures are a little bluer than it appears in person.
