I did get on the smartphone in the store read nothing about lunars eating other fish it only mentioned crustacea which I have no shrimp so I thought I was good. Obviously my mistake lesson learned if he indeed killed the mandy but to be honest he swam in the tank yesterday totally ignoring the tomato and the blue damsel . never bothered either at all. although he may have been full from the mandy if he did eat him.

    Update !!!! Mandy Alive

ok so I was doing some work around the sump and out of nowhere there is my mandy alive and well swimming in the sump!! ;D no I dea how he made it from the main tant to the sump but at least he is alive! Now here is the delima my sump is crowded with a skimmer pump and plumbing it will be a real pain tocatch him. Do I just leave him in the sump or try and catch him and risk putting him up in the main tank with the lunar who is now established? Thanks

Glad to hear the mandarin is ok.

Personally, from what's been said about the lunar wrasse, I'd return it to the lfs. Trust me, it's not "established" in just one or two days. May take several weeks before he starts wreaking havoc.

Oh, and give the mandy back his home.

And that mandarin won't survive in your sump...

Take the equipment out and catch it.

Either way it will be a pain because I am pretty sure I will need to take out every piece of liverock and coral in order to catch the Lunar... :(

I dunno how big he is ... may want to try a bottle trap. Also I know they sleep at night ... Get the red flashlight out and go on a night time incursion, perhaps?
