    Hi all!

I bought a lunar wrasse a month ago and she has been doing perfect.

Responsive to hand feeding, fast smooth swimming, no diseases at all.

But since yesterday, she started to hide under the live rocks without moving at all. I thought she might be dead so today I tried to grab her and she didn't tried to escape, I looked at her closely and didn't found any parasites. Her skin was very sluggish though. when I released her she went back slowly to another rock and she buried herself again.

The water quality is perfect, so I don't really know what's wrong.

What do you guys think it is?

Thanks a lot by advance! :)

Some wrasses bury themselves at night and anytime they get spooked.
As long as she's eating, I would leave her alone. Test your water parameters and make sure nothing is off.

It's the not trying to escape that bothers me. My lunare wrasse buries herself (or himself)all the time, EXCEPT when there is food or if another fish gets near it - then the wrasse is all over the tank. A lot depends on what she does at feeding time. I would watch her very closely for another day, if the wrasse still comes out to eat, leave her alone. But if she hides all day and when fed, I would consider taking her out and putting her in another tank if you have one. Otherwise you may be risking the other fish.

A Luna wrasse will totally destroy your tank they never stop flipping over rocks and tearing at the base of rocks until they sometime tumble over . Clams corals are totally out of the question. Its just the fish a few weeks to acclimate into your tank life and feels at home now.. IMO the single most problematic fish around the hobby .

The wrasse is not spooked at all, in fact, she never was, even when putting my hands in the tank she was swimming outside and I never seen her going under live rocks, even at night, she usually sits on top or between two rocks.

I fed brine shrimps this morning and didn't come out, and I just got home, she was in the same spot, in the same position on the side. I just fed them squid and she didn't flinched.

I really don't know what's going on. But yes, she's not really responsive when I tried to grab her earlier.

I tested again my parameters, Everything is good.

Haaaaa :( I dont want her to die..

Thanks for the replies guys! :)
