For the people replying, I am adding tons more photos lol. I did not go with a fuge just because I didn't have the room in the sump after the skimmer was put in. I do have cheato in there now on the return side that grows and grows. I also eventually add more equipment :)

I was so excited as this was my first sign of life, mini brittles!

I also had some strange orange stuff on the other live rock in the beginning which has disappeared.

my nudibranch which has since reproduced. Guess what they eat? flatworms!

    my diatom bloom

I got a new surge protector with more plugs and mounted it inside the stand so no water can fall on it.

gosh my sump is clean here lol. My skimmer does a great job! This was a couple days worth of skimmate

since the lid that I purchased with the overflow kit was too thick to fit under the trim, I made my own out of acrylic. I didn't want fish going for a ride down to the sump!

I did the same with mine after having my Jawfish end up in my sump, twice. =) I definitely works!

This was my first sign of pods

Still tons more hair algae. At this point I added some hermits and snails to help take care of it.

this was my first fish :) Boy were people yelling at me. She was eating food from my spot feeder so she was fine. She is a blimp as of today, so fat!

I caught the crab finally a couple weeks after I saw it.

Added cheato to my sump to help with the HA. The mag pump is in this pic as well.

At this point I also added a JBJ ATO since I was adding about a gallon of water a day. I also shoved a 10 gallon aquarium in there to hold the RO/DI water.

I bought live brine and fed them phytoplan to beef of my mandarin as she was kind of skinny coming from the LFS. I still get some as treats for her.

The hair algae at it's worst I think.

lol thank you! I take pride in the fact that I did this all by myself :) Most people in the LFS ask my husband if he needs help and I'm like noooo I do!

It took me about 6 months to collect some equipment before I even started. I set up the tank on March 1st with the saltwater and live rocks. It has progressing since then. And yes this will be a reef.

After about 2 weeks of having my mandarin I bought a couple of tank raised ocellaris clowns. They were so small at first I had to feed them the tiny NLS pellets. Now they will eat the larger ones and even mysis.
