Marine Betta's are related to groupers, IIRC.

Absoluely false. Ask them how mine managed for 8 years. Accidently killed the tank with ant poison.

Had a trio of red saddled anthias and they beat the snot out of each other. They killed one off and then I separated them out. The one has been single for about 3 years-ish.

Have had a sunburst on his own for about 4 years now.

I do have a trio of blotched anthias and they seem to do ok as far as bickering. I'm sure they'd do ok, if kept singular, but the rest are from experience and the blotchies are just a guess.

LOL, a lot of people on other forums say a lot of things, that doesn't mean any are necessarily correct... Nevertheless, numerous people have kept Lyrtails signally successfully, so, it would seem that it can be done regardless. It appears that you have a lot of fish though, what size tank did you say this was?

Mine can occasionally be aggressive to other fish, but not often, as I have female anthias. I did loose a male to my melanurus wrasse though, he was bigger and didn't put up with any pestering I guess.. That said though, I said it was a potential issue if kept singly. It's more commonly reported, when there are no, or few females.

My blotchies are not aggressive to others, but the male is..... assertive, I guess you could say. The lyretail was a great community fish. The rest of the anthias were nervous.
