    Howdy -

I would really like some lyretail anthias for my tank. My LFS told me that 3 would do great in my 90 gallons, but some reading online has told me otherwise. Other sources say they will fight and kill each other in 90 gallons.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this?

    Thank you!!

Hello. My bro-in-law has three in his lightly stocked 90g for about 3-4 months with no problems. His other tank mates include a yellow tang and a six line wrasse. They are bueatiful fish.

    That's good to know. Thanks!

I just keep reading about how territorial they are and vicious with one another. But my LFS guy didn't say anything like that to me!

Bump! :) This is a little bit of an ASAP, because I only have through tomorrow afternoon to cancel my order with Diver's Den if I decide I can't keep the anthias.

I personally have not heard very much about them fighting, what I have heard has been difficulties with getting them to eat and stay eating. I have seen them kept happily in a 90 gallon tank so I think you would be good to go. Good luck Kacy! But where are the pics!?!?

Okay, that makes me feel a bit better. I'm hoping DD wouldn't release them if they weren't eating. But we shall see! Alright, here's the pic. It's three females, and the one in the back looks like she's starting the change to male, because her dorsal fin is long.

I didn't want to post a picture unless I was sure I was gonna keep them. But you asked, so here ya go! :)

Beautiful fish! Best of luck. When I get a big tank they will be occupants for sure. :)

I'm hoping the one who turns male gets beautiful red/pink coloring. I read online that sometimes the female doesn't go all the way with the male coloring, and just gets like a really dark orange. I hope not!
