While attending the MACNA2010 convention I made a discovery of a small business that immediately saved me at least $45 and over the next few years will probably save hundreds more.
My next unit will come from them and all of the replacement membranes, filters, blocks and resin will too.
The ro/di units they sell use standard replacements components so will fit any standard size housing. I was able to pick up a full set including membrane and 2 pounds of resin for $86 at the show and just glancing at their website the cost wouldn't have been much more. The resin alone was a bargain @ $18 for 2 pounds considering my cartridge holds only 8 ounces and this will last more than a year.
All of the resin they sell is "fresh" or not re-activated and never used.
They sell a wide range of ro and ro/di units at very affordable prices. The product name "Optima" may not be recognizable because all of the units are built and sold by the company. I will be picking up the dual di 150 gpd unit at an affordable $179.00. One of the attractive features of all the units they sell, including the carbon/gfo reactors is the corrosion resistant aluminum bracket on each unit.

I have used PurelyH20 and recommended their units for years, they are one of my top three favorites. Their history goes back many years to a company called Aquatic Reef Systems which was owned by a man named John who came into some family health problems and had to sell the business.

Be very careful with buying bulk resins from anywhere. Resin has a shelf life of about 6 months, even when factory sealed and properly stored. If it is is a large bag make sure you reseal it using a seal a meal type vacuum sealing device and keep the contents moist or the resin loses its anionic and cationic properties.

While they are one of my recommended companies and their Optima Vison and Automated are nice, they just don't quite have the deal like the CSP-DI found here for $145 complete.
