Looking to see if this is Bryopsis before I try and burn it off with the magnesium level increase.

The bigger fern like stuff looks like a form a culpura. Cant really tell about the smaller stuff. But then Im no expert on this.

Edit actually the more I look at it does look like it could be Bryopsis plumosa.

Should I get a lawn mower blenny? I know my phosphates are between 3-5ppm right now and don't seem to be on the downward swing. I'm looking for options to manage, if not get rid of the algae.

Bea heares and foxface will eat it, but other than that, nothing will touch it.

In the past I tried a couple sea hares in my 35g when I had bryopsis, and they did nothing but ended up dying.

I did have good luck with emerald crabs making a huge dent on it, but they stopped eating it only a few days/ weeks later.

You best bet is to raise magnesium to at least 1600ppm, but the mag test kits are so inaccurate that you might as well go for at least 1800 ppm or so to be sure.

I can tell you that bryopsis is nothing to mess around with. It grows so fast it will take over a good sized tank quicker than you can pick it out manually. I only got rid of it by taking my 35g down, and "cooking" my LR in a tub for a few months.
