Caulerpa spread almost entirely by asexual growth from spores and by fragmentation. A spore producing Caulerpa can often times release such large numbers of spores that it turns the aquarium water a milkly-green color. If this occurs the spores will settle out, be removed by filtration, be eaten or die off in a short period of time. The water becomes clear again, but the spore producing alga can leave behind a white soft tissued husk that should be removed.

Those should be fine in your refugium versus the display tank.

Nugio, put some mangroves in their. If you've got a refugium you gotta have mangroves. They're too cool.

I don't have a camera. Does anyone else have any pictures of some mangroves. Try doing a search on mangroves.

I just bought some seeds. It isn't the full grown plant but it will give you the general idea.

do they have to be hanging in the water or can they be fully submerged. Are they a plant or tree or what. Do they do a good job with your tank.

Yes, I don't think that they can be fully submerged. But, we are new with them also. It is a tree. Now these are just seeds, so they have a lot of growing to do. As far as doing good with the tank, I guess we will see. They seem to be growing good. Second seed just sprouted new leaf and the roots are really growing good.
