Once that stuff grabs hold, it's hard to get rid of :( How big is your tank? I ask because I'm wondering if adding a tang is an option or not.

Are you feeding the tang regularly? If you are, it might be time to limit your feeding to encourage him to eat the nuisance algaes.

This thread just shows you that there is, "More than one way to skin a cat". If I find I got a rock with Caulerpa holdfasts, I nuke it as opposed to looking for herbivores. I literally kill every living thing on it by putting it in a pot of RO/DI water and boiling it for hours and hours. Then I put it back into the tank to be recolonized.

Neither way is "right". Both methods can work.

That's what I would do, especially after having had my own bouts with both feather and grape calurpa :)

LOL....two of us are politically incorrect. :)

I don't mind. Most bacteria measure their lifespan in hours and not days or years and they are the most important lifeform in LR. I don't like to kill higher organisms but life goes on. I would rather sacrifice a polychaete or two and remain in this hobby than get frustrated and let everything die.

I've been known to send a few of the higher forms to the big sleep myself and i sleep O.K , But if by chance I don't sleep all that well then its not from that being a problem.. ::)
