This week I woke up to a strange noise and my fuge full to capacity. (luckily not overflow though)

Anyone have any experiance with Mag pumps know how often the impellers fail? I took apart the pump to find that the propeller part of the impeller just spins freely now so even though the pump is spinning the magnet the propeller doesn't spin. I ended up ordering a couple more impellers off the internet, but the pump is not even 6 months?

    Anyone else have this issue?

My Mag7 has been running reliably for 5 years now without any problem. When you took the impeller out, was the restricting tab on the impeller housing broken? At 6months, it should still be under warranty.

Its a common issue I had that with a Calcium reactor Mag 2 I sent out to a guy here pump was DOA . Becareful of the Ceramic shaft and pull the rubber bushing off of the shaft one will come and thats all you need to remove then work the impeller off the shaft while pull the impeller and twisting it and the shaft . if it won't come ? soak it in some pure vinegar or better yet some CLR or limeaway then lightly sand the shat a few times then a thin smear of Vaseline to coat the shaft and makes the impeller spin easier put the bushing back on and put it back together . Don't over tighten the housing screws and becareful of the little bushings on the shaft for the spacer of the impeller its on one or the other end right up on the impeller .

    Thanks for the advice,

I ended up taking apart the impeller, didn't know it came apart so easy, found a small piece that had broken off, so I superglued it back in place, let it dry, then as I was putting it back together my wife came home with the new one I had ordered, lol Guess ill use the old as a backup. Its all back together and running fine.

    Thanks Again
