Has anyone had experience of this? I've cleaned in and took out the impeller (not cracked) and it starts up fine then after a few minutes it slows down to 1/4 power...

Did it do this new? When was this purchased?

Sounds like the motor is getting weak when there's head pressure working against it.

Anyone else with any ideas? If I could save this pump and not need to purchase a new return pump it would be great.

Hey, I had to send in my mag drive 9.5 for that same issue. They gave me a new one, but it was the "Pond Master" version... same inwards only way longer cord and comes with a plastic pre-filter. They said something about a capacitor in the pump... no idea.

They come with 3 year manufacturer's warranty, so you're still good, as long as you kept your receipt.

Have you tried taking the pump out and running it with vinegar and water? Sometimes little tube worms get in there and can cause issues. If this doenst fix it great to know you can contact manufacturer

If it comes down to a receipt, u may b able to get a "re-print" from your LFS. If bought online, try to find the email or log in the website u got it from to review your transactions & print a receipt.
