This may be a stupid question to some but I have never owned a mag-float before and I received a mag-float 350 for Christmas and had a question about it. One side has the felt for the outside of the tank and the other side has a hard bristle like substance on the other I am assuming that it goes to the inside of the tank. To me it seems a little hard. Will it not scratch the glass or is it ok and made this way. Just want to check before I use it.

There's a greyish color one for glass and a blueish one for the plexi tanks. Just verify that part.

It is the grey one and says it is for glass I was just checking about the hard bristle things. I just don't want to scratch the new 120 gallon tank you know what I mean.

The "hard bristles" wont scratch the glass, however they will scratch acrylic. Be careful not to pic up any sand when you are cleaning, because then you might end up with a good gash of a scratch whether it be glass or acrylic.

Sorry Scenario, I meant you only have to make sure you got the one for glass. As long as you do, you're good to go.

Yes those bristles (looks like velcro to me) are what cleans it and it does a fantastic job.

James makes a point - they will collect debri - if they get too dirty you run the risk of dragging sand across your glass. I clean mine every few uses by running it under tap water (just the inside tank piece) and letting it dry.

Ive got one and it works pretty well, like earlier stated it wont scratch unless your substrate gets stuck in there. Just be careful when cleaning next to the sand !

Those "bristles" will actually remove coralline if you catch it early enough.

Yup, and if you forget, the writing on the mag float goes on the outside of the tank, for advertising purposes, plus fish can't read ;D.
