I picked up darn near every type of pad they have for the smaller mag float. I have an acrylic tank too so I try to be carefull.

The normal one works but not on tougher algae so if you forget to clean for a week you may need to use the brown algae scrubber pad not the white one.
They do have a pad that is acrylic safe that is designed for coraline algae. It works. It looks like a rubber squeegie on a normal cleaning pad but it really works on coraline and some of the tougher brown algae.

The scratch removal products do work as well. I picked up my tank in an emergency situation (water dripping out of the bottom of the old tank) and didnt have the chance to polish it before filling it full of water and living stuff so I had to find someway to get deep scratches out without draining the tank. Just take your time and be carefull of the substrait. I also think that taking a day break between grits would be a good idea. I stirred up a ton of junk in my tank when I polished out the scratches.
