    Help, my mag 12 pump wont turn on. When I try to turn it on it sounds like it is locked up.

    That happened to mine too once.. I just gave it a good smack and it worked lol... the wheel just got stuck.

    I would maybe do what starfish said, but then think about tearing it apart, and cleaning it up so it doesnt happen in the future. Good luck.

    Soak it in distilled white vinegar over night. This will dissolve any calcium deposits.

    1+ after it soaks toothbrush and elbow grease rinse well

    If you take the impellor cover off, be careful with the ceramic shaft. They break easily.

    I had similar prob.turned out the shaft was cracked in two..locking up the the pump..maybe open it just to see if it needs to be cleaned or replaced..

    This happened to me with my 9.5. Remove the cover and pull out the impeller. I would not attempt to remove the ceramic shaft (too easily broken). If the impeller is swollen, you need to replace it. Good luck.
