Definitely, bump it up no more than 100ppm per day until you get to between 1280ppm and 1500ppm.

Watch you salinity as that much change can cause it to get quite high.

I switched from IO to reef crystal salt. Could I slowly bring it up through weekly water changes?

I have new ATI bulbs in the mail (the ones we talked about) and I plan on running some phosphate medium just in case my phosphates (which I don't test, but shouldn't have much) are preventing calcification. Those are the last 2 things I can think of that is preventing growth.

What would you recommend to bring it up? Is their a calcium/alk. buffer that also replenishes magnesium?

I haven't found a buffer that is good at replenishing Mg. I would get a Mg supplement from one of the major companies like Seachem, Kent, etc.

I like the brightwell mag, but really any of the mag products do well.

While you are checking your parems take a look at your Kh and Calcium. I would bet at least one of these is also way off

What test kit are you using? are you sure it is accurate?

The Mag was tested by the LFS.

I use Seachem tests. Last I tested, my Alk was at 5 meq/L (little high), Calcium at 450+ and my PH was around 8.0. I just did a water change with reef crystals instead of IO. I'll test and get to you.
