I have been battleing raising my ALK and Calcium and figured that it was do to my low Mg and I was right its at 550 I see epsom is the best way to raise your Mg I was wondering how fast should I raise the levels to where it wont hurt anything.

before doing anything I would get that result checked because 550 sounds incredibly low

once you are sure of your exact level
your target for a typical reef set up is somewhere between 1280 and 1350 a bit higher is fine also IME (Maintained 1440 for about 12 months now myself)

the max you want to increase in any 24 hour period is 100ppm

I've done 100ppm (300ml) in 24 hours before without issue but I am afraid to do more than that. I use an Kent I.V. doser to drip it. I use E.S.V. - B.R.S. has bulk salts too.

Glad you caught that - 550 is really low! What test kits are you using?

do you mean re tested with same test kit?
what if your problem is not your mag level but your test kit?

2nd opinion before surgery would be my advice

the 3 reef calculator can do the math for you
I checked , and to raise mag by 100ppm in 130 gallons from 550 to 650 would take 17 ounces of Epsom salts

but do not add anything until your 100% certain it is not a dodgy test kit

Wait, is your Magnesium 550 or your Calcium 550?

You'd never support a Ca level of 550 with a Mg level also at 550; something is not right here.
