Can anyone help me with a mail order coral acclimation process.

I got the corals in the mail today, floated them fine for 40 minutes, and then opened each bag making sure to not use the shipping water in my tank.

The directions stated that this was necessary because the corals emit waste while in shipping and heavily pollute the water. So i cut the top off of a poland spring gallon jug and emptied each coral bag into it before the final step of placing the coral in my tank.

they are all sitting on my sand bed right now, and I heard that slowly over time you should move them up as needed.

Can anyone who has done this before be more specific, I am not sure how fast is too fast to move up. Especially since I have 2 monti frags that need some strong light.

Also would it help if i dosed anything extra like Iodine or Magnesium? (extra meaning raising the levels to help heal?)

I have 150 watts of MW in a 29 gallon tank. The frags are 2 montis, and 3 acans. Any help is always appreciated.

First, never dose for anything you are not testing. If your levels are all in the "good" range, don't worry about dosing anything.
Second, you're going to want to leave the acans near the bottom anyway. Acan's don't like strong light. They will bleach
Third, monti's don't take need a super amount of strong light. They are on the lower end for lighting requirements in terms of SPS. You probably won't want to take them much higher than midway in the tank.
Finally, you can usually move things up a little every 3-4 days.

Also, I don't know what lighting he uses on his tanks, but I went ahead and put some of my SPS from him up top just to see. They're happy and fine so far. Granted, it was mille and a birdsnest, which like lots of light.
